Roman Social Class Before 494 B.C
The top Social Class Pyramid describes the social society before the Plebians gained rights and before they went on strike. They could own little farms and workshops but could not participate in the government or have veto power. They also could not marry a Patrician. That was before 494 BCE
The bottom Social Class Pyramid describes social society after the Plebians went on strike and refused to be in the army and fight, also claiming that they would leave Rome. Their strike was successful because the Patricians new that if they were not in war then they will loose because the Plebians where foot soldiers and the Patricians fought on horses. And not all soldiers can fight on horses. The strike was also successful because if the Plebians left Rome then the Patricians would be doomed because the Patricians cant do a lot. And for the Plebians they could now be apart of the government and have veto powers, they can now marry a Patrician.
